Trailer of the Week: Ip Man 3
I am a huge martial arts fan. As a result, I can’t get enough martial arts movies – be it with Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Sonny Chiba, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, or, in this case, Donnie Yen. I totally dug the first Ip Man film that released stateside back in 2008, as well as its sequel. It was actually this first film that made me a fan of Donnie Yen and had me going back to watch some of the other films he’s done, like Flashpoint and Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen. Yen is a great martial arts action hero, and is always a blast to watch, so i was understandably excited when I heard about the following trailer.
Wikipedia doesn’t say much of anything on the film’s plot synopsis, except that it will involve him teaching a young Bruce Lee, and Mike Tyson is a street fighter and property developer. Like the other films, I don’t expect this to be entirely factual, but would most definitely be entertaining.
Also, at 51, Donnie Yen was recently quoted as saying that Ip Man 3 may be his final martial arts film. I’m quite certain, his swan song won’t disappoint. And on last thing, be sure to keep an eye out for Donnie Yen in the new Star Wars: Rogue One, releasing next year! So, without further ado, the Ip Man 3 trailer!
