You know that feeling when your stomach churns, your palms start sweating a bit, and you get a sense of panic that is only equal to forgetting to buy Star Wars tickets during the pre-sale? That feeling is the anxiety-inducing knowledge of Black Friday steadily approaching… and there’s almost nothing you can do to quell the panic.

Well my friends, I have suffered the same fate many of you have during this time of shoppers-gloom. I too have braved the treacherous seas of forlorn deal-seekers in the wee hours of a post-thanksgiving apocalypse, and I wouldn’t wish that ill-fated task on anyone sane. So this year, I come to you with not a remedy for this sickness, but rather a suppressant for the insanity. We all know you’ll be out in the madness that is Black Friday, so in an effort to restore some order to your haphazard shopping I have curated a handy tech-related guide to help you on your journey.

One of the things I pride myself on knowing an ungodly amount about is tech and gadgets (I once owned a frickin Zune for peets sake), so when you peruse the following list, know it comes from a mind of a technophile–albeit a OCD, crap-gadget-hating, luddite-shaming technophile. Take what you find here with great heed, for the journey before you is a dark and treacherous one… if I could sum it all up in one sentence, I would tell you it’s dangerous to go alone, so take this guide!

Wearables

$100 Target Gift Card When You Buy Any Apple Watch

apple watch target

Whether you bought into the Apple Watch hype by now or not, you can’t overlook this deal. Sure there’s no savings out the door, but think of all the other awesome things you could buy at Target with that $100 gift card… toilet paper, tacky decorations, mediocre food, off-brand clothing. The list goes on and on. Bottom line: if you’re an iPhone user and have been pining for some sweet Apple wrist-candy, this is the deal you want.

Fitbit Charge HR Wireless Heart Rate and Activity Wristband, $119.00

Perhaps the smartwatch trend isn’t exactly your thing just yet. After all, you just got used to toting around a giant smartphone everyday, am I right? But deep down, you at least want to be able to count some calories, steps, and maybe get your heart rate on a regular basis–just without a gaudy tech bulge on your wrist. This is where fitness trackers usually excel. They can do all the fitness related stuff you need plus tell the time, all in a minimalistic form factor. Target has one of the best trackers on the market, the Fitbit Charge HR, on a deep discount of $30.99 off the retail price. Besides all the aforementioned functions, this band also has a caller ID, syncs up wirelessly with Android or iOS devices, has a sleep tracker and lasts up to 5 days on one charge. Plus it just looks kinda sexy, which is always a plus in gadgets.

Laptops and Tablets

Dell – Inspiron 15.6″ Touch-Screen Laptop, $299

Yes, laptop sales are lame, I know. But lets face facts, most of us still need a PC to get us through our work or schools days because tablets just aren’t there yet. With that in mind, there can still be some pretty cool laptops out there that can get the job done, and be fun to relax with. This Dell fits that category perfectly. It runs Windows 10 (don’t worry, it’s everything you love from Windows 7 and mostly just the good bits from Windows 8), has a competent spec sheet (Intel Core i3 – 8GB Memory – 1TB Hard Drive), and includes a touch screen. Best Buy is giving a nice $130 discount during it’s “doorbuster” sale, so snatch one up before you get trampled.

64GB Apple iPad Air 2, $449.00

I could honestly write anything in this space, and you’ll still skip over it because you’ve already clicked on the link to this amazing deal. A deal like this doesn’t usually come along until Apple is about to release a new model of iPad, and that scenario is nowhere  in the near future. $150 off an iPad Air 2 is bonkers. If you’re still reading this and haven’t already decided to get this deal, let me say it like this: the iPad Air 2 is the best tablet hands-down and you’d be a fool to not cash-in on this… Good talk. Get this deal only at Staples on Black Friday.

Kindle Fire – 7 inch, $34

via Amazon.com

via Amazon.com

Here’s a deal that’s almost a no-brainer for just about everybody. The Kindle Fire is a good tablet for consuming all sorts of media: games, movies, social media, etc., and at a bargain-basement price of $34, you could literally buy one of these just to give as a stocking stuffer. It’s a solid design, has a serviceable screen, is plenty fast, and could be a great first tablet for that kid in your life–I’m not judging, just saying everyone knows of some child that could use one of these. Have a heart, people. Get this deal at Best Buy or Amazon.com on Black Friday.

Gaming Consoles

PlayStation 4 UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection Console Bundle, $299

via Walmart.com

via Walmart.com

If you’re still in need of a next-gem console and your preference is Playstation, then this is most likely the best deal you’ll find this year on Black Friday. To sum it up, you get a PS4 console and the entire Uncharted series remastered (not including Uncharted 4 of course). If Microsoft is more of your style, then the best deal would be…

Xbox One Holiday Bundles +Free Game and $60 store card $299 – $449

via Xbox.com

via Xbox.com

Microsoft really wants you to buy an Xbox One this holiday season. So much that they have discounted all their bundled systems, and they’re pretty great deals. Plus, starting 11/26 you can get a free $60 download code and Assassin’s Creed Unity free! Insanity. Here’s a quick look at the versions:

  • $299 – Xbox One Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle; Xbox One Standard
  • $349 – Xbox One 1TB Holiday Bundle; Xbox One Rise of the Tomb Raider Bundle
  • $449 – Xbox One Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians Bundle; Xbox One Elite Bundle

There you have it, the best deals I could slap together in a haphazard manner. If you liked this guide, or have some suggestions to add to the list, please comment below or hit us up on Twitter and Facebook to give us your feedback! Have a safe and sane Black Friday 2015, and please don’t trample/get trampled this year.
